Awarded First Place in the Professional Miscellaneous Category in the 2022 ACUI National Steal This Idea Competition

Objective

The yearly annual report is one of the largest projects of the year for the Marketing and Communications team. Like many, the organization has had a tough year, but despite that was met with many successes and achievements that we wanted to highlight in a way that was reflective of our student-facing organization—fun, youthful, and inclusive.

Goals

(1) Remain adjacent to the pre-existing company branding and representative of it’s values of diversity and inclusivity.

(2) Celebrating achievements of the past year and highlighting the work of our student staff.

Approach

Our team of three, composed of the Senior Director of Branding Strategy, Web Master, and myself, the Graphic Designer, utilized Miro, Slack, and Adobe XD as our primary tools of collaboration. As the Graphic Designer on the team, I handled the illustration and content layout, working closely with the Web Master to troubleshoot when any problems arose when translating that onto the website using Elementor.

We used simple, playful illustrations to supplement the data and highlight key achievements. As you progress through the website, each section will be a different color of the rainbow. Our goal was to show the organization’s focus on inclusivity, equity, and opportunity, with each part of the organization coming together to create something beautiful.
